Ms. Wegner is available to advise employers and employees about a variety of employment-related issues, both as a lawyer and as a human resources consultant. Although she often acts as a legal advocate by negotiating and drafting employment, independent contractor and separation agreements, negotiating settlements of legal claims, attending mediations, responding to subpoenas and responding to EEOC, DFEH, EDD and Labor Commission filings, she also counsels employers and employees about their respective workplace rights and obligations.

Topics about which she routinely provides advice include family, medical and other leaves of absence, vacation, sick leave and other policies, state and federal equal employment opportunity and harassment-prevention laws, wage and hour issues, prevention of wrongful discharge and retaliation claims, hiring, disciplinary, discharge and lay-off procedures and documentation, disability rights, personnel investigations, litigation avoidance, non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, protection of employer property and proper classification of contractors and employees.

Ms. Wegner also routinely drafts and reviews employer handbooks and conducts EEO and harassment prevention training for both employees and managers, including training mandated by California Government Code Section 12950.1.
